A continuation from our Beginning Hebrew class: in Intermediate Hebrew, we offer students the opportunity to take their reading ability and apply it to learning the core Hebrew prayers of the Shabbat morning service.
Students will learn the first several prayers, and the meaning of many key words, allowing them to begin to form an understanding of the meaning and connection to Jewish prayer in the original Hebrew.
This course meets in person at Congregation Beth Shalom on Wednesday nights, 7:45-8:45 pm, beginning June 11 and running weekly through August 20, with one week off.
Purchase of the course includes a copy of the book 'Hineni: Prayerbook Hebrew for Adults'.
This course is provided through ITJ Pittsburgh, a program of the Greater Pittsburgh Jewish Clergy Association. The GPJCA represents all movements of Judaism: Reform, Orthodox, Reconstructionist, Renewal, non-affiliated, and Conservative.
