Much of what we do at Rodef Shalom is under the purview of Jeffrey Herzog.
Meet JeffreySusan began her teaching career at Rodef Shalom while a freshman at the University of Pittsburgh. As an undergraduate at Pitt, she majored in history and minored in Jewish Studies and, then, went on to earn her Reform Religious School teaching certification from the Isaac Mayer Wise Gratz College program in Philadelphia, her hometown.
As a young person, Susan attended two of Rodef Shalom’s Union for Reform Judaism camps, first as a camper and then a staff member. When she was in youth group, her involvement led to a seat on the organization’s regional board.
Susan has been a dedicated educator for 30 years, having served as Director of Education in two other congregations. She continues her professional development by taking courses through the Agency for Jewish Learning. Among her studies at the agency, Susan took the Meladim u’Minhagam course, a three-year program that including two weeks of study in Israel. Susan has three grown sons, lives with her husband, Richard in Allison Park, enjoys travel, and relishes the connections she makes with family and friends.
