Passover is our holiday of freedom. In the Jacob Religious School we have lots of freedom and are doing our part to share that freedom with others! Students and faculty are working hard to repair our world through many tzedakah projects.
Young children are natural gardeners. They are curious, they learn best through concrete, hands-on experiences, and they love to play in the dirt. Working in a garden, a child can experience the satisfaction that comes from caring for something over time, while observing the cycle of life firsthand. Exploring the workings of nature is a wonderful way to teach environmental awareness.
By the time you read these words, the reconstruction of our historic sanctuary will be complete. Although our sanctuary was always beautiful and awe-inspiring, I dare say that, today, it is even more breathtaking.
I hope you’ve had the opportunity to visit or, preferably, to worship in our recently updated sanctuary. The creation of a mid-height, fully accessible, bima has been completed. We have been able to enhance the beauty of our principal worship space, not an easy task.

Having just returned from the Children’s Village in Karmiel, Israel, I happily report that, thanks to the generosity of our members, all 275 children are doing well. The Children’s Village comprises mishpachtonim or group-family units overseen by house parents who care for the children in their charge.
