Finding Your Voice: Torah Chanting for Beginners with Cantorial Soloist Susan Richman

 

This multi-week workshop provides an initial introduction to chanting Torah using the approach found in the URJ book, The Art of Torah Cantillation. Gain insights into the purposes of chanting and the way the system works, learn how to prepare to chant a Torah portion, and develop skills in learning basic tropes (little ‘tunes’ used in chanting). Participants should have basic phonetic Hebrew reading skills. Light snacks provided.
